Vietnam spendet Kuba 3000 Tonnen Reis

Anlässlich des Besuches des Vietnamesischen Präsidenten Nguyen Minh Triet auf Kuba übereichte diese eine Spende von mehreren Tausend Tonnen Reis, Fernseher und Computer. Der Kubanische Vize Präsident Ricardo Cabrisas erhielt 3000 Tonnen Reis, fünfhundert Computer, eine gleiche Anzahl von Fernsehgeräten,

sowie 8000 Bücher und 600 Paar Schuhe, berichtete die National Information Agency (AIN).

Vietnam ist Kubas zweitwichtigster Handelspartner in Asien. Der bilaterale Handel betrug im Jahre 2008 US $ 560 Millionen. Vietnam ist der wichtigste Lieferant von Reis nach Kuba. Im Rahmen des Besuches von Nguyen Minh Triet wurden auch mehrere Abkommen unterzeichnet.

Es soll verstärkt versucht werden die Reisproduktion auf kubanischem Territorium zu fördern, um "schrittweise den Import zu senken". Eine weitere Zusammenarbeit wurde in der Sparte Textil-, Schuh-, pflanzliche Öle vereinbart.

Beide Parteien unterzeichneten ein bilaterales Abkommen zur Gründung eines Joint Ventures zwischen der Gruppe Elektronics Kuba und Hanoi Electronics Corporation.
